Too many players go overseas too soon or have bad luck with the wrong coach etc and end up coming back to the A-League or get lost to the system. On a side note I wonder why Burgess isn’t in the squad for Sydney FC and whether he’ll find another team in the A-League; it would be a shame to see his talent wasted.

Thanks Grem. You’re correct; Ouahim looked more threatning off the bench. It’s a pity Kucharski can’t get more game time and Burgess didn’t play at all, but they got the result and that’s football.
Classy imports, hungry youngsters: The A-League players who were the difference in Round 5
I thought Burgess found pockets of space and worked his guts out in the second half, until he was subbed off and Caceres was good, but ultimately the goal from Wood made the difference.

I’d like to see Edmondson start more than he did last season and Kuol be more of an impact player. Great to see Piscopo doing well under PK, just needs to stay injury free.
