MCCDA opened the Removing Obstacles to Assist Recovery (ROAR) Center on June 4, 2018. The center’s day to day operations are run by volunteers who are in recovery. They maintain coffee hours Monday through Friday in the mornings for people to socialize and get their day started. Many of their participants are clients at a local outpatient facility who are on their way to their group appointment. ROAR also has open hours from 6 pm to 10 pm, Wednesday through Saturday for participants to utilize the resource room, pool table, dart board, games, and books. Community members hold meetings regularly such as NA, HA, Women’s meeting, Men’s meeting, dual-diagnosis, and Mercer County Recovery Initiative, which is an activities group. Sundays and Mondays are reserved for events and family activities. Tuesdays are also reserved for family activities and Nar-Anon is held weekly on this day. We are located at 912 East State Street, Sharon PA 16146. For more information, call the center at 724.308.6222 or view our calendar.
MCCDA’s ROAR Center is the first sober environment center of its kind in Mercer County. It offers a safe and sober environment where people in all phases of their addiction can drop in for a meeting, a cup of coffee, and activities to engage with others who offer support to one another. The center provides opportunity for people to get involved in community activities, volunteer work, and to receive referrals to address the needs of the participant. We offer a community service through Mercer County Courthouse for those who need to complete hours as per the court.
